Apples are eaten fresh or cooked in a variety of ways and are frequently used as a pastry filling, with apple pie perhaps being the archetypal American dessert. Particularly in Europe, French fries typically accompany some sausage or pork dishes.
Wheat is one of the three most important cereal crops in the world, with maize and rice. Grade II and III wheat for use in food (mainly milling and baking). Feed wheat is intended for animal feed and for the production of mixed feed for animals.
Potatoes are often served whole or mashed as a cooked vegetable and are also ground into potato flour, used in baking and as a thickener for sauces. The tubers are highly digestible and provide vitamin C, protein, thiamine and niacin.
